Ep 080 Dorsey Ross, Born With Apert’s Syndrome, Shares His Life Story Without The Word “Can’t” In His Vocabualy

Dorsey was born with a congenital disability known as Apert’s Syndrome. When he was born, his forehead was pushed outward, his nose and mouth were pushed inward, and his fingers and toes were fused, meaning he had no individual movement of them. Doctors gave Dorsey’s parents no hope for his survival and advised them to put him into an institution.

When he spoke at the team’s unveiling event, Bennett promised to build a team that the Village of Schaumburg and the Northwest Suburbs could be proud of, and Bennett is a man of his word. The 2013 Boomers captured Schaumburg’s first-ever professional sports championship, the team went on to win again in 2014, and the Boomers brought home the team’s third title in 2017.

In 2011, at age 33, Bonnie Hewitt, Posh Notions, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a chronic illness in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. She was temporarily paralyzed. Over time, she was diagnosed with numerous other chronic conditions, including fibromyalgia.

She spent years not only in physical pain but also mourning the loss of what her life used to be.
