It was a cold Thursday in January a few years ago when Gloria Battini packed her bags and walked out of a 14-year-old manipulative relationship. She had accomplished so much in the previous 18 months of self-development and inner work, she felt strong, empowered and free.

Today Gloria sees the women she worked with making life-changing decisions that they wouldn't have dreamed of at the start of their journey. She sees them show up for themselves and transform the way they face the world. Their relationships getting better, their kids being inspired by their mums, she sees women coming out of their shells and creating a different world for themselves and others.

Ep 054 Marathons To Incurable Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Caroline Rose Journey

In November of 2004, Caroline Rose was in the very best shape of her life. A few months prior, she had run her fastest marathon in San Diego, beating out all of her previous six finishing times in Austin, Nashville, Dallas, New York, and Boston. One month prior, Caroline had completed the Los Angeles Triathlon, finishing in the top bracket in her age division. She was even in the process of training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with her brother.

Then Caroline’s entire world was turned upside down.

While getting bloodwork and the necessary vaccinations for an upcoming trip to Africa, it was discovered her platelets were at a life-threatening level. Within 18 hours Caroline was diagnosed with highly aggressive, incurable stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Ep 053 Kidnapped, Held Hostage For Ransom Arjan Erkel Story of Trials and Triumph

Arjan was working as Head of Mission for “Doctors without Borders,” when Muslim rebels brutally kidnapped him in the Republic of Dagestan situated in Russia’s turbulent North Caucasus. Guarded by heavily armed men in masks, Arjan spent twenty months (607 days) in a dark cage measuring five feet by six feet with nothing but insects and rodents as cellmates.

After going through a very dark point in her life where everything seemed impossible and hopeless, she was able to emerge with a sense of purpose and excitement for the future. She felt reborn and ready to start living once again. She started Advanced Freedom and created the Handi Pac! Advanced Freedom is driven and inspired by the lives of people with physical disabilities. Her mission is to create functional and accessible products for people with physical disabilities.

Patrick O'Dooley CSP is a native of Dallas, Texas. He attended the University of Oklahoma on an athletic scholarship, graduating with a degree in marketing. After serving in the U.S. Army overseas as an aviation officer, O'Dooley returned to Dallas, where he enjoyed a successful career in sales and sales management with IBM and Steelcase Furniture Corporation. A commercial pilot, then a nail in his eye changed his life.

Patrick has spoken in all 50 states, and 7 foreign nations during the past 20 years. He served on the board of directors of the National Speaker's Association where he earned their highest designation of Certified Speaking Professional, a distinction held by less than 375 speakers in the world.

After a serious back injury that left him paralyzed, John Davis, known as The Corporate Action Hero, developed his "5F" system of achievement. The system hacks the fight or flight response shortening learning curves, and increasing successful outcomes. Using the system, he went on to perform over 4000 live comedy sword-fighting shows in 16 countries around the world.  On six USO tours, John took his show to the front lines of both Iraq and Afghanistan from 2001-2006.

Glen Sefcik is an American former international and national decathlon, sprints, and hurdles coach, collegiate coach, author, lecturer, and higher education advocate. In 1980, he served as a sprint and hurdles coach for the Saudi Arabian Olympic Team. During his career, he has held positions as head coach for four universities.

Death arrived more than once due to unexpected health conditions but Glen beat the odds to author his book Memoirs of a Dead Man: A Spiritual Journey to Significance.
